Shade and translucency
Select an available shade above. Heat treatment controls translucency: HT+, HT, MT, LT or MO.
Manufacturer firing reference
Peak-temperature examples for DEKEMA Austromat 654 / 624i, from HASS document AM_BR_IM_EN_251104:
| Translucency | Reference peak |
|---|---|
| HT+ | 840°C |
| HT | 850°C |
| MT | 855°C |
| LT | 860°C |
| MO | 870°C |
This summary is not a complete furnace program. Use the full, furnace-specific heating, holding, vacuum and cooling instructions in the HASS Amber Mill brochure (PDF, pages 6–8) and the instructions supplied with your product.
Verify and calibrate each furnace before use. Crystallization requires vacuum. Keep the chamber closed during long-term cooling. Do not exceed 885°C, including re-firing.
Product Q&A
How is translucency controlled?
Temperature and holding time affect crystal development and the resulting translucency.
Can re-firing increase translucency?
No. HASS describes reducing translucency, such as HT → LT, using the appropriate heat-treatment conditions. Do not use re-firing to convert LT → HT.
Does veneering affect translucency?
HASS reports little or no change with short veneering firings; temperature and duration still matter. Check the linked manufacturer guidance for compatible powders.
Natural Opalescence & Fluorescence
Amber® Mill recreates the opalescent effect of natural enamel, showing bluish tones under reflected light and warm yellow hues under transmitted light. Its fluorescence mimics natural tooth structure, enhancing realistic esthetic outcomes.
Innovation That Works for You
Optimized for CAD/CAM Systems
Amber® Mill blocks provide excellent machinability, stable margins, and reduced chipping—ideal for high-precision milling workflows.
Strength for Long-term Longevity
Mechanical strength increases from 250 MPa (milling state) to 450 MPa (fully crystallized).
| Condition | Biaxial Flexural Strength |
|---|---|
| For Milling | 250 MPa |
| Final State | 450 MPa |
Multi-chromatic Gradation Effect
Even without staining, Amber® Mill restorations show beautiful color gradation from cervical to incisal thanks to its natural fluorescence and opalescence.
Indications
Suitability depends on the selected block format and the manufacturer instructions supplied with the product.
